ShowGo.tv Weekend: Creole String Beans, Arrival From Sweden: The Music of Abba, and Peter White

creolestringbeans

Still reeling from our HUGE Wednesday night with Vicci Martinez, Dean Brown and Eric McFadden. Check out the Facebook comments on the Jazz Alley page which was buzzing during Vicci’s show.

Creole String Beans kicks off three great shows this weekend, live from The Mint in Los Angeles.  I’ve come to rely on the club for the hottest bands from the other LA (Louisiana), especially the recent ShowGo.tv-streamed Lost Bayou Ramblers show.

Since forming in 2003, the Creole String Beans have defined a new era in South Louisiana rock ‘n roll by digging up the most obscure New Orleans and Louisiana Swamp Pop chestnuts, mixing in the most iconic of local glory-days hits, and delivering this hot musical gumbo with style and energy. Their latest release, Shrimp Boots & Vintage Suits,  features hard rocking funk grooves about out of control spillway parties, soulful blues, and tongue-in-cheek swing tunes about shopping mall paranoia and thrift store comfort that blend seamlessly with swamp rock obscurities.

Check out the Creole String Beans: Swamp Pop Ambassadors to the World.

When: Saturday, January 12, 2013 – 10:30 PM PT. Showtime is approximate as they are playing after the 9:30pm opener.
